KENCANSA improves the quality of a patient’s life by ensuring that they get correct and timely information for cancer management. This includes referrals and linkages to care, treatment and support groups. We ensure that patients get access to affordable medical care. With your support, we are able to provide essential programs and services to cancer patients in Kenya.
Under this program we provide patients undergoing chemotherapy at Kenyatta national Hospital with healthy and balanced meals twice a week, when they go for chemotherapy. Presently, we provide about 700 free meals on a monthly basis in Nairobi and 100 free meals monthly in Nakuru. With your help, we are able to provide these much needed meals to cancer patients in other counties as well, at no charge.
Under this project we facilitate the acquisition of NHIF cards for cancer patients to ensure that they get access to affordable medical care. This is inline with our vision of a Kenya without cancer.
Under this project we provide prosthesis for those who have undergone mastectomy, wigs for those who have lost hair and other accessories that cancer patient do require. Cancer shows no clemency and survivors have harsh knock-backs to show during the battle. We work to ensure that their dignity is restored. In addition we also offer psychosocial support in form of counselling to help patients and their families’ better cope with the situation.
